The Annan Harbour Festival 2024 was a wonderful success, filling the harbour with life, music, and fun throughout the day.
Blessed with good weather and the return of the Tall Ship La Malouine, the festival welcomed over 3,500 visitors, making it our most vibrant year yet.
The festival featured more than 40 stalls from local producers, crafters, and partners. Highlights included a fantastic cooking demonstration by Mike Evans and Christine Matthews, who wowed the crowd with a recipe of scallops with a tomato and pepper dip.
The day was brought to life by performances from Paragon Music, The Solway Pipers, and The Annan Town Band, adding to the joyful atmosphere.
Families and children enjoyed a wide range of activities, including a bouncy castle, face painting, crafts, and games. There was also an inclusive jamming workshop, power boat rides, rowing trials, and a “Build Your Own Bat Box” workshop, followed by an evening bat walk. Visitors had the chance to engage with citizen science initiatives and gain valuable information from partners on environmental topics.
Our Coffee Shack served up delicious bacon rolls, sausage rolls, and burgers, all made using locally sourced meat from Hallsford Farm Produce and fresh rolls from Warwick Bridge Corn Mill – a perfect treat for visitors enjoying a full day of festivities.
Each year, the festival grows, and we’re excited to announce that we are already planning the next one for 2025. With hopes of redevelopment and exciting changes at the harbour, we aim to make the festival even bigger and better next year.
We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to all our incredible volunteers, who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make the day possible. Without their dedication and hard work, this event wouldn’t have been the success it was.
