Annan Place Plan
Annan Place Plan – Vision, Themes and Priorities
The Place Plan Steering Group has now collated the responses received through the community consultation.
You can view the results below and in a summary document (PDF). From these we have developed some themes and a vision, together with some generalised priorities.
THEME 1: Economic Development
A vibrant and sustainable economy, where the local community and businesses can develop, reviving and boosting our social and economic development;
THEME 2: Community
An active and engaged community that supports and celebrates our culture, heritage and people, working together to develop an inclusive and resilient community for all;
THEME 3: Infrastructure, environment and climate
A modern, well-linked community through the provision of local amenities, well managed public services, suitable public transport and active travel provision, in a clean and green environment that encourages local people and visitors to value our beautiful location.
Priorities identified by the community through consultation:
Promote better understanding and care of the local built and natural environment.
Empower the community to take a leading role in promoting regeneration through the establishment of a local development vehicle.
Improve resilience and access across community services and facilities.
Promote climate awareness and greening projects.
Make better use of the local environment, built heritage and history to establish Annan as a ‘destination’.
Improve facilities and opportunities for children and young people and support the organisations providing these.
Advocate for local training facilities and other support for local businesses.
Ensure the housing needs of the local community are met.
