Annan Harbour Action Group (AHAG)

Annan Harbour Action Group began as a community-led initiative and is now a Scottish Charitable Incorporated Organisation (SC046732).

Since 2011, AHAG has implemented infrastructure improvements, run various activities and organised a programme of events. They [meet the staff] aim to revitalise the local area, promote harbour usage and raise public awareness of the harbour as a community resource.

Reclaiming Annan Harbour for the community

With community support, AHAG and a team of consultants prepared Options Appraisals, Feasibility Studies and a Business Plan relating to the abandoned Minister’s Merse and a neglected historic warehouse on the quayside to make successful applications to the Scottish Land Fund to turn these into a space for AHAG operations and community use, together with a public green space.

The properties were purchased in March 2021 and AHAG has now employed a Facilities Manager to continue to work with the consultants, South of Scotland Enterprise and Dumfries and Galloway Council to raise the necessary finance to complete the project (see Our Vision).
